  • Hi there was just wondering if anyone's smart meters actually work in there homes and gives electricity and gas usage as expected. Av went through the forums and read all issues and problems and tried everything and no success . My IHD3 Meter acctully worked for about a hour while engineer was in he left and 10 mins later it stopped working and gave message waiting for current data . Its said this for 10 days and as av said av tried everything av emailed bulb alot of times and filled out the form for smart meters not working 3 times and still no reply . So is anyones actually working as it should or is everyones not working. Was thinking phoning them up tomorrow see if a can mabe get engineer out see if he can fix it . Regards David.

    Hi all,
    Just had a smart meter connected couple weeks ago.
    I'm looking at my statement and thinking I didn't record the meter reading on the last day before the smart meter was fitted. I don't know if the engineer did?
    What will happen to my next bill happy it will be right moving forward but what about the usage until on the old meter? Bulb always over estimate usage!

  • Currently moved in to property on economy 7 with smart meters installed. I don’t wish to stay on this as it’s not beneficial to us,I want to switch suppliers to bulb which I used in a previous property. Can I swap to a so gene tariff and is there a over priced charge to do this?? Anyone had experience of this I also can’t find any info online

  • Ok, so my IHD is finally showing Electricity data a couple of months after the meter was fitted. BUT it seems to be showing as if I was using 0 elec. The display seems to indicate I would be flowing back to the network ie feed in, when that’s not the case. Anyone else suddenly have new data showing up?

  • had new 2nd gen smart meter installed. 3 weeks ago & i,m still waiting for it to display my electricity usage.
    bulb are aware of a software issue & still waiting for software fix.
    when questioned why are they still advertising the equipment they say it is due to the government policy.
    surly they should fix the issue before installing faulty equipment to more customers.

  • I switched to Bulb in September 2019 and gave them my meter reading which they failed to log.

    Since then I have sent further readings which they failed to log.
    A meter reader came and they failed to log his reading.

    They have kept on using estimated readings which are more than my actual usage even though I have contacted them numerous times to give accurate readings.

    I contacted my previous supplier who said that they raised a complaint about the failure to supply a reading.

    Bulb insist on using their opening estimate even though I have sent them a copy of my final statement from my previous supplier.

    I shall return to my previous supplier.

    Very poor service from Bulb and would NOT RECOMMEND.

  • I have just joining bulb.i was quoted 92.71. In 3 days into it being told should be paying £100 in three days without any readings. That will be £33 per month more than I paid with other supplier or £390 more per year not happy

    Hi you cannot move a gas meter from inside a property unless it’s within the same room and from the ecv.
    The ecv is a brass fitting with a red handle if you need the pipe altered before this contact you local gas network.
    In the south and Scotland it’s sgn I think coredon cover north London and midlands.
    Please do not use a third party like guc connections or crown energy or any other third party or you will pay double.

  • Smart Meters.What a joke. Had mine installed on the 15th April and the display is still not active. Bulb are happy as they have the readings and perhaps don't have the incentive to correct the problem. This issue must have been known to Bulb yet the still rolled out the installation. Not the kind of customer service that I have come to expect.
    Disappointed.
