Negative account balance with previous supplier

Hi there,
One of my friends is thinking of joining Bulb but is hesitating because she'll have to pay her outstanding bill to her current supplier, which has occurred due to their own billing cock-ups.
Is this the case or is the negative balance transferred to Bulb and paid either as a one-off or via an increased monthly DD?

  • Hi J, the balance won't be transferred to Bulb, so she'll have to pay it off I'm afraid. Some suppliers will let her set up a payment plan to pay it off over several months, she should contact them to see what they'll let her do.

    If her balance with them is over £500, they will probably object to the switch and stop the transfer until she's paid it.
