Bulb is expanding internationally

Good Afternoon Community,
We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing Bulb’s affordable, renewable energy to people in France, Spain and Texas. We’re starting with a soft launch for family and friends later this year, followed by a full launch early next year.
We’ve written a blog post about it here.

We want to continue our mission of helping as many people as possible save on their bills and reduce their carbon emissions.

We’re starting with France, Spain and Texas, but they won’t be the last. There’s more information on how we went about choosing these markets, and what the plans are for them in the blog post.

And if you’re keen to learn more, you can sign up to subscribe to updates on Bulb’s expansion abroad.

We’d love to hear your thoughts here too, let us know what you think in the comments below.

  • I hope you're employing more staff given current customer experiences =)
  • This is a really cool idea.

Let's hope it all goes well.

Are you calling yourselves ampoule in France?
  • Hi @Hooloovoo - we're always employing more staff to keep up with growth, and France, Spain and Texas will all have their own teams.

@FromTheValleys - We're still going to be Bulb everywhere else :)
  • God help france spain and texas when you cant get it right in London! Scammers,!

    Exactly what makes bulb scammers?

Most transparent and easy coping energy company I've come across
  • Can we refer freinds and family in those countries or not?

@FromTheValleys, I'm intrigued, do you honestly still believe this?

I wouldn't go as far as to call them scammers, but there are a lot of good choices out there, some of which have definitely flown past Bulb in light of all of the Smart Meter issues and lack of communication that we've all received.
  • @mowcius I haven't had to deal with cs in a while. I might be able to save a fiver a month. Until an actual green supplier comes along cheaper than bulb I'm stating put.

It doesn't have the same vibe as when I joined. That's for sure.

Smart meter issues are happening across the board, it's not unique to bulb.

True, but most of the issues that are facing people on Bulb do seem unique to Bulb. Signal and network issues are another matter.
  • Expanding abroad? Wouldn't it be better to sort out the problems you are having in UK first? My experience so far isn't that good.
  • Sorry to hear that @IBUM370, is there anything we can do to help with your account?

We're committed to help people reduce their bills and lower their carbon emissions. We won't compromise on our progress

We’re expanding internationally to help even more people lower their bills and cut carbon emissions. This does take some preparation but we have a lean team working on these projects. Our focus here in London is on our UK members :)
  • Can we refer freinds and family in those countries or not?

Ohhh. This is a great idea! We could do a get £50 give $50/ €50. Or could there be a different incentive?
  • Since my Smets 2 readings have reached you. Issue me with an accurate bill (after all it's what smart meters are about). Secondly reply to my email (sent 7 days ago) asking why you haven't done it. Thirdly tell the truth about what is actually happening, no more corporate obscufation speak that we are getting here.

    Quote from Bulb October 2018
"As with everything we deploy at Bulb, we want to test things first. It's super important that we've made sure things are working smoothly and that we get feedback from our members before releasing it."

  • Not to be unduly negative, but if I had shares in Bulb, now would be a good time to sell. Other signs from history are moving to new corporate offices and getting a corporate jet.

Do Bulb own a jet? I can't find anything about this on the Internet.
  • Nope, we're not getting a jet! And don't plan to.
  • But would Bulb get an electric aeroplane?
  • B) now that's an idea...
