Old supplier leaving charge

I have been charged £80 by British gas for leaving and I only signed up to Bulb because they stated they would pay the early leaving charge. But I haven't received anything from bulb and I cannot find anything regarding this online. Has anyone else had this problem?

    If you click 'Help' on the top menu, then type 'exit fees' the top result will inform you about this.

    Bulb won't be told by your old supplier about any 'exit charges', so you'll have to tell Bulb yourself. From https://help.bulb.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/115001227591-What-about-exit-fees-from-my-current-supplier- :

    We’ll refund the fees your old supplier charges you for leaving.

    If you leave with 7 weeks or less left on your contract with your old supplier you shouldn’t have any exit fees. But if you are charged, we’ll refund them up to £120, or £60 per fuel.

    To request a refund, fill in this form https://account.bulb.co.uk/dashboard/exit-fees-refund . We’ll need a copy of your final bill as proof of exit fees. Please make sure the address, bill date and exit fee charges are clearly displayed.

    Once approved, we’ll credit this balance to your account within 2 days.

    It’s worth noting that we only refund exit fees. All members will need to settle any outstanding payments themselves.

    Seems very easy and clear. Let's hope it works.
  • @NathanDay - RichyB is quite right, as soon as you receive the bill which lists the exit fees we'll sort the rest.
