Bill Spiked £700 in August?

Just been looking at my electricity usage for the last year and apparently my usage was worth £740 in August. I cannot think of anything that would result in such a massive spike in electricity usage.

Any ideas why there was such a sudden spike?

Were several bills prior to August based on estimated readings rather than actual meter readings? It’s likely that the estimates were too low, so you had a catch up bill via an actual meter reading in August which makes it appear as though lots of energy was used in that one month.

I believe you have it right. Thanks.
