Billed at wrong rate for gas after March 2019 price change/reduction
The e-mails I received from Bulb about the price reduction promised a new rate for gas of £3.38p per kWh including VAT. I calculated this as 3.129p per kWh excl VAT.
When I looked closely, the bills that should have used these new rates, instead used 3.33p per kWh excl VAT (3.5p kWh incl VAT).
Bulb have accepted this mistake and apologised – albeit somewhat off-handedly. Not surprisingly they have said that the bill is correct and that the e-mails were wrong.
Although the error was only 0.12p per kWh and not a huge amount in terms of my total bill, instead of getting a reduction from 3.59p per kWh to 3.38 pence, 0.21p,
I got a reduction to only 3.5p per kWh, 0.09p. Bulbs e-mails exaggerated the reduction by 2.33 times and therefore presumably claimed annual saving.
I suggest taking any future Bulb price change e-mails with a pinch of salt.
Not expecting / needing any responses. Posting this just in case anyone else is wondering about their bill
