I have a generation 1 smart meter installed by British Gas. I notice that other users have been notified that Bulb can read their SMETS1 meter. Can anyone advise on when I can expect mine to be readable as, having recently purchased an electric car, I would like to change to the EV tariff.
We are upgrading our technology constantly and, as you’ve mentioned, we have been able to communicate with a lot of SMETS1 meters, however we aren’t able to communicate with all SMETS1 meters just yet.
We don’t have a set timeframe for when we will have access to your meters, but you will be advised as soon as we are able to.
