Hi all,
Spring has sprung. Hopefully some more sunny weather will be headed our way soon.
It’s been an exciting month in the Bulb community. In March, we had 1.2k comments and 171 new threads. We also welcomed 250 new contributors to the Community, which is always great to see.
Here’s what happened in March:
- It was B Corp month. We are a certified B Corp, meaning that we put purpose over profit. You can find more about this on our social media.
- Some top tips on spring cleaning your Bulb account were given by @Diana_at_Bulb to make sure that we’re in a good position as we enter the warmer months.
- Due to an increase in wholesale costs, we are changing our prices from 19th April. We’ll still be priced competitively and below Ofgem’s price cap.
-
We’re trialling Google Nest smart thermostats to help members save. We’ll be emailing all eligible members so keep an eye out.
- Samsung and Chameleon Technology held a Q&A to discuss SmartThings and IHDs. Thank you to @Ricky.String, @JackHarney, @MariaAnn367, @vitekprucha and @HarrisonPurv for getting involved. Thank you for hosting, @Chris_at_SmartThings and @James_at_Chameleon!
- There were great recommendations from @Pbcharlie about various smart switches that can lower your bills and reduce your carbon footprint.
- The discussion about where electric vehicles (EVs) are headed continued, with great input from @Ff1220, @Trevor_at_Bulb and @Jason35x .
- The clocks went forward. It’s a great time to remind yourself of a few ways to cut bills and save energy over the next few months.
Coming up in April:
- Our price change is coming into effect from 19th April.
- We’re changing our export tariff rate, meaning that members will get paid more for every unit of electricity that they export. Payments will be made every 6 months, instead of every 3 months.
- We’re trialling an Electric Vehicle (EV) tariff. We’re creating an EV members lounge in the Bulb community to discuss any feedback. Watch this space.
- There’ll be a helpful piece about changing your opening or closing readings with Bulb if either is incorrect.
Have a lovely Easter everyone.
