If you log into your Bulb account at http://account.bulb.co.uk , click ‘Account settings’ then ‘Payment settings’ and then you’ll be able to change the date of the direct debit. It’s worth mentioning that if ‘today’ is within 4 days of your current direct debit, then it may have already either left your bank account or the request for the funds is on it’s way to your bank and can’t be cancelled (i.e. if you DD date is ‘today’, then money has left your bank and will ‘hit’ Bulb today’, and if your DD date is around 4 business days in the future, Bulb would have already sent the DD request to their bank to send to your bank to work it’s way back). Worse case: a double payment is made (“today” and then again on the 1st) and you can ask Bulb to refund it via email if you want.
