to convert a meter reading into kilo watts is it the same calculations as b gas
@lazyb Yes, it’s an industry standard - https://www.theenergyshop.com/advice-guides-how-to-convert-gas-units-to-kWh#.WzjOVLlErcc
thankyou from lazyb
The calorific value of gas (the amount of energy in a cubic meter) does alter depending on temperature, humidity and other factors. This factor is often overlooked when applying the conversion.
@Trebor1 If you mean that it’s often not appreciated that it’s a variable figure, then I take your point.
In their monthly statements Bulb do provide the figure they’ve used to calculate the bill. Using that figure, my spreadsheet always agrees with the amount charged.
