Direct Debit

Hi, is there a way to change my monthly bill to a direct debit? At the moment my monthly figure seems to come out of my bank account each month like a card payment. I would prefer it to be in my list of direct debits each month so I can see what is due to come out my bank account.

Hi @Baz, at the moment we’re taking your payments via your card. If you’d like to change this just head to your MyBulb (my.bulb.co.uk) account. Under the ‘Change my payment details’ section, you can add a payment method by clicking ‘pay by debit card’ or ‘pay by direct debit’. I hope this helps!

Hi it’s not giving me the option to change it on my account. Only allows me to up date card details.

@“Will at Bulb”/@“Tallulah at Bulb”, I can confirm that this option is also nowhere to be found on my MyBulb payment page.

Is it only on specific accounts/being tested internally?

I couldn’t see how to do this either today, but a 2 minute call to Bulb had it all sorted. I suggest calling them. Excellent customer service by the way.

The functionality exists, the link is https://my.bulb.co.uk/dashboard/payment-details/edit-direct-debit to set up a direct debit and https://my.bulb.co.uk/dashboard/payment-details/edit-debit-card to set up a debit card. The “Edit payment details” button in MyBulb links you to the card version if you currently have a card set up, or direct debit otherwise.

Maybe we could have a link on each of these pages to the other version in case they want to change from one to the other.

That seems like a good idea. Maybe "Switch payment to Direct Debit" or "Switch payment to Debit Card" just to the right of "Edit payment details".
