Do meters just die?

Hi

I just went to read my electric meter but it’s just a line of zeros! We briefly switched off the electric so we could remove a cooker hood, but surely this wouldn’t effect it would it? Do meters just die?

TIA

Hi @gina_62,

I presume you are checking the physical meter itself and not any in-home display (IHD) that you have? If you are and you’ve checked against https://help.bulb.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/115001232832-How-do-I-read-my-meter- , then it’ll be best to email or call Bulb directly (this is just a community forum) at https://help.bulb.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/115001240291-How-can-I-get-in-touch-with-Bulb- and they’ll be able to advise directly - ‘best worst case’, they need to loop in a technician to provide instructions, worst worse case is they’ll declare your meter faulty and replace it for you. It’s rare for a meter to go faulty though, but Bulb’s techies will be able to advise appropriately.
