Electricity meter replacement

I have just had an electrician fit a new consumer unit and fix several issues that were identified on an EICR. During the installation, the electrician said that the meter needed replacing as the terminal threads were damaged. I have got the final reading from the old meter but have contacted Bulb support and was told that the electrical company will sort it all out from here…despite the electrician not knowing that Bulb is my electricity supplier?

Not being satisfied with this answers, I wanted to double-check before either the electrician bins the old meter or I pay them for the work!

Hi Calum, anything on the meter is our responsibility and your electrician will know that they can’t alter it. I would recommend sending through a photo of the fault to help@bulb.co.uk and we can identify if the fault is on the meter. If it is, we will book in a meter replacement by our engineering partner.
