Emails from OVO Energy

I had a smart meter fitted about a month ago and I have started to receive emails from OVO Energy which tell me that my energy costs will now be £X amount (double what I am currently paying with Bulb) going forward.

I have never used OVO Energy and don’t intend to. How have they got my email address, is this linked to my smart meter installation, is this spam or is it something else entirely?

Please advise as I don’t want to a) be paying their prices, b) be paying two energy suppliers and c) be with them anyway!

You should probably follow this up with Ovo, because it’s either spam or a switch has been started by accident (i.e., wrong address given, wrong meter number on database).

It’s certainly nothing to do with your smart meter installation.
