Fighting the climate crisis: Tech Zero

What’s Tech Zero?

The TechZero taskforce was launched by Bulb earlier this year to accelerate the UK Government’s plans to reach net zero emissions by 2050 :memo:

Our aim is to have 1,000 companies join us in making a climate action plan. We’re excited to announce that we’re now at the 100 mark and counting.

Who’s in the Tech Zero taskforce?

Members of the Tech Zero taskforce include the leaders of some of the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK. The founding companies are allplants, Bulb, Babylon, Citymapper, Faculty, GoCardless, Habito, Hopin, Moneysupermarket Group, OLIO, Onfido, Revolut, Starling Bank, what3words and Wise.

How do we plan to fight the climate crisis?

Companies who join Tech Zero commit to measuring their emissions and setting an ambitious net zero target. At Bulb, we’ve committed to reach net zero emissions by 2030 :oncoming_automobile:

Companies will also have to appoint a member of the executive team to be responsible and accountable for their net zero target and communicate climate commitments to customers.

They’ll also receive access to exclusive events with climate experts, a toolkit to demystify climate jargon and access to a network of companies committed to accelerating to net zero emissions.

A full list of commitments can be found on the Tech Zero website. We also wrote a blog post about this earlier in the year. We’re really excited about how Tech Zero will help to tackle climate change.
