Help with an electricity meter

Hello, we rent a flat in a small apartment building where all of the meters are located in a shop below. This is a very small 1 bedroom apartment and our electricity bill has come to around £900 for 5 months. The owner of the shop says that a person who previously lived in one of the apartments had the same problem so got a meter moved into his property however we still have this extortionate bill on our name which is clearly wrong and our landlord is refusing to help. Does anyone have any advise how to deal with such a situation?

Is the bill based on an estimate? Have you been able to regularly obtain access to the meter and submit readings to Bulb?

Is your flat electric only? If you’ve been using electric heating over the past 5 months then the usage and bill could very well be correct, even though it’s only a small apartment.
