Hi, is there anyway I can pay fortnightly instead of monthly?
Yes. Open another bank current account, attach your Bulb direct debit to it, pay into that new account fortnightly at least half your Bulb direct debit amount.
In fact, attach all your bills to the new account, give it an initial float, and then pay in weekly, monthly, whenever you like. It will decouple your income from your expenses and you wont care when bills go out any more. In general, this is called “budgeting”.
technically you cannot ask bulb to take payment out of your account fortnightly.
but the work around given above works fine and you could open the new account and only use it for bills, set aside how much you need to pay fortnightly for all your bills.
I set up an account like above years ago when i use to do temp work, which paid weekly, I still use the account today for bills.
typically i work out how much the annual bill would be then divide it by 52 (weekly) or 26 (fortnightly) to get what i need to pay respectfully.
