National Grid is the main company responsible for transporting gas around the country, but for the small percentage of places that they don’t, Independent Gas Transporters (IGT) are involved.
What does this mean for me?
Nada. From June onwards, we will no longer be charging extra for IGT supplies. Thanks to an industry-wide project called Nexus, the way we switch all gas supplies will be harmonised. This means no extra work for tricky IGT switches and no extra cost for you. For more information, see here.
When do I find out if I use an IGT?
Check your gas meter point reference number on your bill. If it starts with 74, 75, 76, or 77 then you will be supplied by an IGT.
If you are still unsure about IGT’s, give us a ring on 0300 30 30 635 and we’ll help to break it down further for you.
