In credit why ask to increase payment

As I am in credit why do you keep telling me to up my direct debit payments by so much

Unfortunately with the upcoming price increase in April, we’ve had to increase your payments to ensure that your future usage is covered and your account remains in credit. I appreciate that you are in credit currently, however with the amount that the tariff is increasing by, as well as your current usage, we’ve had to increase your payments fairly significantly.

We can lower your new payment amount by 10%, or set you up on a variable direct debit instead, if you are worried about paying for your energy moving forwards. Just let me know what you think is best and I’ll get that sorted for you.
