Is my IHD working as it should?

We had our smart meters fitted yesterday. We are not connected to wifi because the engineer told us that the signal was strong between the meters and the IHD. I’m not convinced that my IHD is working as it should. It only displays gas info (flame symbol) and if I press the button to switch between the two nothing happens.

There are no lights illuminated at the bottom of the IHD - think it should show either red, amber or green.

Is this something that can be fixed? I’m guessing from the booklet that it’s not doing everything it’s meant to! Will connecting to our home wifi make any difference?
