Just joined bulb and already received a bill

My old supplier just took a payment and bulb took a payment a day later. Skint and confused

We had no contact regarding what day we would like the payment took out of our account. And no request for any meter readings?

Hi @Bingo, are you saying you have not had any emails from Bulb?

When you request to switch they send you emails explaining how and why they charge in advance, what the terms and conditions are, to request a meter reading before your switch date, and then regular emails every month or so after that asking for new meter readings to ensure your account is up to date.
Your first payment goes out of your account on your switch date. The date for future payments can be changed in your MyBulb account here.

If you don’t appear to have had these emails, have you checked your spam folder?

Regarding your old supplier taking a payment, it can take up to 6 weeks for your old supplier to close your account and issue you your final bill and they may continue to take payments from you during that time. Sadly there’s nothing that Bulb can do about that.
