Hi I’m due to leave Bulb on the 18th of this month and my direct debit is due to be taken on the 17th but I have enough credit to cover my usage. Will you still take the direct debit. If so how long does it take to get a refund to my account. Thanks
Your direct debit will continue to be taken as per normal (you can perhaps reduce it down to the minimum £5 via https://account.bulb.co.uk and select ‘Payments+Statements’) as you’ll still be with Bulb on the due date - please note that direct debits requests take a couple of days to go through the banking system so I would change the DD as soon as possible as Bulb will need to send it to their bank shortly so it’ll be debited on the 17th.
I’m sorry to hear you are leaving Bulb - according to https://help.bulb.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360016075911-How-do-I-leave-Bulb- , it can (like switching to or from any supplier) take up to 6 weeks for the new meter readings to reach your old supplier (Bulb) and for the closing bill to be produced and the refund issued (in theory, the refund could be as quick as 24 days from the moment you sign up to the new supplier, but that involves everybody being ‘on the ball’, weekend timings being ‘just right’ and the ‘independent third party meter reading verification company’ [who coordinates opening/closing reads between suppliers] being quick - and most the time they aren’t!).
