I phoned Bulb today as my electricity meter readings wouldn’t submit online. The gas meter reading was fine. The operator took my readings over the phone. My account had several hundred pounds credit and I requested the bulk of it to be transferred to my bank account. Tonight I’ve checked my account and it says my monthly payments need to be £735.

Your monthly use is definitely not £735, and your payments look fine as they are.
