My gas smart meter got replaced with an ordinary meter

Our gas smart meter stopped working on a friday last november and we had no hot water or heating for 2 days. When the engineer arrived, he was going to replace our meter with a pre pay one until i noticed and said i want the same as i had before, a smart meter. Instead, i got a standard meter. How do i go about having it changed to a smart meter as before. When i try applying on the app, its saying i already have one.

It looks like you have an older generation smart electricity meter, so I am unsure if we could install a new gas smart meter as they may not be compatible.

I’m just going to speak with our metering team on this though and will follow up shortly
