Opening reads were estimates, how long to rectify?

When switching from a previous supplier to a new supplier, we were not asked for meter readings on switch-over day. Estimates were sent over and verified by the industry. Estimates used were way too high, the property was empty and had previously had night storage heaters which we took out. We have asked for the estimates to be disputed but have no idea how long this will take. Can anyone advise of a timeline for this to be done? The old energy supplier took massive direct debits and is refusing to communicate with us. They have issued final statements based on the estimates, and won’t refund us any of what was taken by them.


Just to clarify your query, do you mean when you switched to Bulb you were not asked to submit a meter reading?
