Hello,

I have just joined blub. I paid £42.15 when I joined, then received an email saying my bulb account had been charged £57 to pay for this last months electrical bills. I have now had another £42.15 taken from my current account. I’m confused as to why?.. can anyone explain to me as after emailing bulb I still don’t understand what’s happening as there was no reply.
Any ideas?

Hi @Harriet, with Bulb you pay in advance for the energy you use.

Think of it like a top up account.

You pay into your Bulb account (that first £42.15), you use energy for a month, they charge your Bulb account for that usage (in this case £57), then they take your monthly payment again for the next month.

as after emailing bulb I still don't understand what's happening as there was no reply.
They can be a little slow by email. In future I'd recommend the web chat (here, bottom right) or phone (0300 30 30 635).
