I’m considering switching to Bulb but my only reservation is that there is no online top up option for prepayment smart meters. Does anyone one know if going to a retailer to top is going to be the only option for long? Even though swapping would save me money, the hassle of having to go out and top up is really putting me off.
Hi @MissWilling It sounds like you have a smart prepayment set up, where you top up online. We don’t support this type of meter as a prepay meter, but only as a credit meter, where you pay monthly by direct debit, and never have to top up at all, and never lose supply.
What happens, is that the old supplier sends a signal to the meter to switch it from smart prepay, to a dumb credit meter on the day of the switch, and then we can supply the meter
