Price Increase

Hi there - I have just started the process of switching to you and I noticed that you advises clients in August that prices had gone up 5% yet you have advised me - a few days later - that prices have gone up 18%. I was wondering which statement was incorrect or misleading or if you could send some proof that wholesale prices have gone up 12% very recently. Many thanks. Alastair

Hi @AlBarrie, fair question.

The blog post in August said that from June to August they’d raised by 5%, and then yesterday’s blog post said they’d risen by 15% in August; they’re not referring to the same time period. As for some sources, I’ve attached an Independent article referencing Ofgem having to raise their price cap as a result of rising wholesale costs, as well as a Telegraph article mentioning the 3 year high for gas prices.
