How do I get a refund of my money in credit. I have quite a bit and can’t see a way to transfer it back into my bank account
There’s an article on this topic in the help centre, linked from the “Help” button at the top of the page.
Hi @grmartindale ,
As per the stickied post at the top of this forum titled ‘How can I request a refund?’ https://community.bulb.co.uk/discussion/6700/how-can-i-request-a-refund :
We advise keeping extra credit in your account so we don’t need to increase your payments during the colder months.
However, if you’ve built up credit in your account and would like us to refund it, you can let us know.
Before we refund the credit on your account, we’ll need to check:
You’ve given us a recent meter reading.
Then we can check that the balance on your account is accurate compared to your usage before we issue a refund.
There is more than one month’s payment in your account.
This is so your account does not fall into debit when we send your next statement.
We’ll refund the credit into the same account as your direct debit. It can take up to 10 working days to reach your bank account.
If you’d rather keep the credit in your account but lower your direct debit payments, just head to the “Payments and Statements” section of your Bulb account.
If you have moved supplier or house, we’ll automatically refund the credit on your account within a couple of weeks of receiving your final bill.

f your account is in credit by more than your monthly payment amount you can email email@example.com to ask for a refund.
A few things to check first
Make sure we have recent meter readings. If we don’t, your Bulb Account balance may not show how much energy you’ve actually used. Submit a reading before getting in touch.
We take payments for the month ahead. So you should always have a month’s worth of credit in your Bulb Account to cover next month’s statement.
Everyone tends to use more energy in winter. Your equal payments have been averaged to build credit in the summer to see you through colder months.
I have hundreds in credit and use £30 a months so I would like this transfered back into my bank account. I have submitted a recent meter reading which reflects my usage
Have you emailed Bulb asking for the refund as per the help article I posted above?
How i will get back my refund please
They say i need to email to you about my refund
Then you have your answer regarding what to do?
