Are you interested in testing cutting edge smart EV charging technologies?
We’re carrying out a research project with EDMI meters to understand whether the smart meter network can be used to control EV chargers - a process known as load control. This could help the transition to a renewable national grid that supports the growing number of EVs in the UK. The research project is funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
You’ll test a prototype smart charger for 3 months
Smart charging means you can charge your car when there’s less demand on the grid, so it’s not only greener, it could save you money too. If you’re on Bulb’s Economy 7 or EV tariff, you’ll be able to charge your car when it’s cheapest.
Taking part in the trial is free. We won’t charge you for the charger or the installation. We’ll remove the charger when the trial finishes, leaving your home ready to install another charger. You’ll then get a discount on a new charger through the Bulb Store (coming soon).
You’ll get a £250 discount on a charger from the Bulb Store
When we remove the prototype at the end of the trial, we’ll give you a £250 discount on a new charger from the Bulb Store (coming soon).
Register your interest in the trial if you’d like to get involved.
If you have any questions, just pop them in this thread, and we’ll get back to you.
