Why am I constantly being asked to increase my monthly payments, in this case to £51 when my average usage over 7 months is £41 and I am currently £61 in credit?

Maybe it advises you to build credit for the winter period. Not sure.

More generally are you being asked to increase your payments to cover the possibility of using more energy over the forthcoming colder months?

If you look on your Payments and statements page what does it show for “Average monthly usage”. This covers a 12 month period as opposed to your average over 7 months.

Also are your bills based on meter readings which you have supplied?
