Replacing Old Style Gas and Electricity Meters

Hi all, I was wondering what the cost of replacing the noted?

I am a pensioner, and the meters are quite hard to read, would it be possible to get them replaced? Is there a grant I can apply for to help with the cost?

Many thanks

Bill

When my gas meter was making a loud squeaking noise some months ago, Bulb replaced the meter at no cost.

@BillWaller1942 if the meters aren’t faulty, we’d charge £120 to replace the electricity meter and £118.46 to replace the gas meter. I’m afraid there’s no grant to help with this, although you may be eligible for the Warm Home Discount which is a cash rebate of £140 each year.

Alternatively, if you are happy to wait until we roll out smart meters next year, we can offer a replacement free of charge.
