My gas end electric smart meters were installed in the cellar. There’s no phone signal down there and they’ve never worked as “smart” meters. I’d like to switch to an electric vehicle at some point and having a variable (low at night) tariff would be very useful.
Does anybody know the long term plans for improved smart meters (either with some sort of extension aerial or using Wifi) so that they can meter readings to utilities companies?
