Smart Meter

I moved to Bulb from First Utility, with whom I had a Smart Meter fitted. As far as I can tell, Bulb are not able to read this meter remotely, so I am forced to read my smart meter every month. I have not been able to get an answer from Bulb about this.
Does anyone else have experience of switching supplier with a smart meter and getting the new supplier to be able to read it to continue the benefits that it ought to bring?

Hi, @Meldrew at the moment the current generation of smart meters (SMETS1) only work with the supplier who installed them. The new SMETS2 meters which are currently being tested will be able to be read by all suppliers
