Just wanted to clarify whether the latest generation of smart meter is able to cope with solar energy. I was part of a SM (no, not that kind of SM…) trial some five years ago, but the meter stopped transmitting to the utility company when we had solar panels fitted. Apparently the two-way flow of energy confused it.
Yes, I’m sure they will be able to. Solar panels are much more popular nowadays, and the regulators are putting much more thought into smart meters now. So much thought in fact that it keeps being pushed back.
