Smets1 update so i can use the ev tariff

HI when will you be able to read the smets1 meters as i am unable to go on the ev tariff,which would save me over £200 a year.
Or can i pay towards a smets 2 to be fitted

I have taken a look into your account and currently, there is no update on when we will be able to move your meters onto the smart network. Until that happens we wouldn’t be able to move you onto the EV tariff.

Is there no way i can get a new smart meter as it could say me £200 a year
