Solar PV Panels

Given that the Feed-in tariff is going to be phased out, do the sums stack up? If I were to install panels now, roughly how many years would it take to achieve a break even point?

Hi @GWR_steam_33 ,

According to Solar panels: are they worth it? - MoneySavingExpert , the average years to break even is around 30-77 years without the Feed In Tariff. The exact time frame will, of course, differ depending on installation size, efficiency (type of panels - they are getting cheaper all the time - roof angle etc), if you are storing ‘unused’ power in a large battery (but then you have the cost of that - see Terence Eden’s blog article at https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2016/03/meet-maslow-the-uks-answer-to-teslas-powerwall/ for an example costing), amount used during the day etc etc - https://www.pvfitcalculator.energysavingtrust.org.uk/ might help calculate the efficiency for you.
