ClientEarth is appealing the Government’s decision to approve a new 3.6GW gas plant in North Yorkshire. The plans were approved in October last year, going against the Planning Inspectorate’s recommendation. The Drax gas plant would have a massive climate impact so it feels like a step backwards on the UK’s transition to low carbon energy.
The case will be heard in the Court of Appeal, though the article doesn’t give a date.
